The Nigerian Educational Research and
Development Council (NERDC) is mandated by the enabling law
(Act 53 of 1988) to sponsor national or international
conferences as may be relevant to the functions of the
council. Pursuant to this core mandate, the Council
successfully organised a national conference on Educational
Reforms for sustainable Development in Abuja from 19th -
20th November, 2008.
The Council is planning another national
conference for 2009.This is not only in its continuing
effort to create enabling environment for the cross
fertilization of ideas n the field of educational research
and development as espoused in the council's mission
statement, but also to boast its plan to become the African
regional centre of excellence for educational research and
development by the year 2010

Papers are invited on the sub-themes. Please send an
abstract of not more than 200 words to include
title,author(s) names and affiliations through
e-mail:
eduresearch_nerdc@yahoo.co.uk. The
submissions should be in Times Romans Font (12pts) and in
double line spacing. Full Papers should be a maximum of 10
pages including title and reference pages, using the current
APA referencing format, in addition to 6 power point slides
and forwarded using the email address not later than 10th
November, 2009.
