PRESIDENT Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has approved the appointments of chairmen and members of boards and parastatals in the Federal Ministries of Aviation and Education.

A breakdown shows that five parastatals were affected in the Ministry of Aviation. They include Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) and Nigerian Meteorological Agency.

The Federal Ministry of Education has a total of 19 boards and parastatals.

In the Federal Ministry of Aviation, FAAN has Chief Ebitimi Banigo as chairman, while Mrs. Ngozi Lavender E., Hon. Hamisu Muazu Shira and Collins Onyeka are members. NAMA has Abubakar Baraje as chairman, while Mohammed A. Yahaya and Capt. Valentine Tongo are members. NCAA has Chief Sule Onabiyi as chairman. Members are Hon. Tijani Kumalia, Makaman Rigachikun, Chief (Mrs.) Remi Kuku and Mr. Raphael Chukwuemeka Onovo.

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) has Chief Dayo Abatan as chairman, with Mallam Abubakar Aboki as member. Alhaji Yusuf Salami is chairman of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, while Alhaji Danladi Maiauduga and Chief (Mrs.) Rebecca Apedzan are members.

In the Federal Ministry of Education, the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has Prof. Tunde Adeniran as chairman. Members are Umar Halilu Aleiro, Mr. J.D. Akhigbe, Hon. (Mrs.) Patience Mba Ogodo, Prof. Owoicho Akpa, Dayo Soremi, Usman Abubakar, Azarema Abdulkadir and Mrs. Ebiye Ahmed-Sari. Col. Shehu Ibrahim (rtd) is chairman of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), with Mrs. Dorothy Nwoke, Arc. Dahiru Saidu and Dr. Olu Ogunye as members.

Prof. S. C. Ukpabi is chairman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), while Mr. Chijioke E. Okafor, Sen. Bala Kariya, and Dr. Idi Adamu Kafarati are members. The Educational Tax Fund (ETF) has Dr. Musa Babayo as chairman. Members are Dr. Hafizu Abubakar, Abba Gana Tata, Emeka Ekwerenmadu, Hajiya N. A. Mudasiru, Dr. Havilah Tebepah and Umar Bin Isa Koto. Sir Dr. Abiye S. P. Sekibo is chairman of the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), with Dr. Alex Obi and Dr. (Mrs.) Lami Hamza as members.

The National Examination Council of Nigeria (NECO) has Mallam Yero Bello as chairman. Members are Hajiya Magajiya Abdu, Mallam Mohammed Jalo, Chief Augustine Ejembi, Mr. Banny Nwoakwu, Hon. Joseph Okpodu and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja. Prof. Shehu Galadanchi is chairman of the National Universities Commission (NUC), with Hon. Ogoh Alubo, Prof. Femi Odekunle, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, Mrs. Helen Esuene, Prof. Livy Amajor and Dr. Ibrahim Tahir as members.

The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) has Dr. Jerry Agada as chairman, while Mr. James Oghiadhome, Amb. Mahmood Yahaya and Mr. Chijioke Uwa are members. The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is chaired by Engr. Musa D. Abdullahi. Members are Mr. Yinka Adelani, Chief Emmanuel Nwosu and Hon. Kaulaha Aliyu. Comrade Paschal Bafyau is the chairman of the National Commission for Mass Literacy (NCML), with Steve I. Alao, Mrs. Comfort Obeya, Prof. Akerewujola, Mohammed Lamin and Anicho S. Okoro as members.

The National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE) has Hajiya Zainab Maina as chairman. Members are Hon. Chinonye Macebuh, Mr. Darlington G. Banigo, Mal. Adamu Garba Ibeto, Hajia Zawana Bakori and Alhaji Shittu Mohammed, while the National Institute for Nigerian Languages has Prof. Femi Otubanjo as Chairman, with Innocent Umeh, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Kabiru Moyi, Mrs. Mercy Omili, Adamu Panda and Hon. Joe Ochigbo are members.

Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Gumba is chairman of the National Teachers' Institute (NTI), with Anjikwi M. Chiwar, Chief Kemi Adeyemi, Prof. Garba D. Azare and Prof. Egwu U. Egwu as members. Prof. Isa B. Mohammed is the chairman of the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), while Usman A. Garba Gummi, Dr. Eghuanoye Ikata and Mas'ud El-Jibril Doguwa are members.

The National Library of Nigeria (NLN) is chaired by Alhaji Zannah Mustapha. Mrs. Tessy Azubuike, Alhaja Atinuke Oyawoye, Juliet Chukkas, Danladi Abdullahi Kwari, Chief Godwin Ame Udo, Alhaji Yusufu Chiroma Kutama and Alhaji Sani Almu Isa are members.

The National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has Abba K. Yusuf as chairman, with Ms Judith Emuobo Enamuotor, Arc. Gabe Adimora, Dr. Bello Alimi, Wakil Chibok and Hon. Lanre Orimoloye are members. The National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) will be chaired by Otunba Muyiwa Collins, while members are Mrs. Pat Moseri, Prof. Fred Onyeoziri, Ademuwagun Adebola Nasiru and Prof. Haruna Birniwa.

The Nigerian French Language Village has Hon. Peter Orji as chairman. Mallam Musa Waziri, Mrs. Remi Adiukwu and Prince U. K. Ibiam are members, while the Nigerian Arabic Language Village has Prof. D. M. Bagari as chairman. Zanna Mohammed Kafelama, Ahmed Ash-sha Ali and Safiya Mohammed Maikudi are members. Mallam Abu Bazariye is chairman of the Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria.
